    Wahab for Faheem
    Asif Ali for Abid
    Amir for Junaid

Feel sorry for Junaid. Wahab wasn't even in the probables but made it. Shoaib Akhtar knew this from the start. Lol.

    Confirmed by Inzi

Would have preferred Rauf and Shinwari over Wahab. When media has your back you can get in.

    Shinwari unlucky to miss out.

Both Aamir and Asif in place of Faheem and Abid is an improvement as both latter players wouldn't have played anyway.

Shinwari deserved a place in this squad over Wahab.
    this is nonsensical.
and just one proper spinner in Shadab hmmmmm.

Excited to see Wahab. Say what you want but he has genuine pace which will be useful on these wickets.

Good to see Asif and Amir also.

Yaar we saw what he’s pace brought the last time he was over here. The guy is a spray gun.

    Good changes.

    Wahab is a wildcard.

It is a shocker to see Fahim go, seemed to be one of Mickeys favs.

lol Wahab randomly being back. Pathetic. Why are these people so brainless. Guys record is patepath. Guy hasn't been anywhere near Pak team for a while. Guy was getting smacked in a random Ramadan tournament the other week...but no let's pick him and drop poor Junaid (who has a better record, more wickets recently). If you wanted to drop Junaid then go for Shinwari who has more wickets and has been with the side recently.

Pathetic. Opposition batsmen going to be licking their lips at facing this spray gun.

He's not replacing Faheem though, he's replacing Junaid. It's a downgrade.

Very good squad as a whole.

I would have selected all these guys aswell apart from Wahab, personally would have preferred Shinwari but this is Pakistan cricket.

No Amir is replacing Junaid. I watched selection live and Inzi said Amir replaces Junaid. Wahab replaces Faheem.

He’s replacing Faheem. Amir replacing Junaid.

Wahab can crank it up and offers genuine pace. Junaid is too one dimensional and cracks under pressure.

That's an assumption. I wouldn't term him as his favourite. You would think Mickey spent time on Faheem to see if he could develop into an allrounder but after 2 years he hasn't progressed at all. Just didn't work out so back to the tried and tested players. Full marks for persisting with the player development. Also, full marks for realising it wasn't going to work out at the world cup.

Believe it or not, Amir, Shaheen, Hassan and Wahab are the best pacers in the country for these tracks. Hasnain is just an impulsive pick. He's far from ready

That's the spirit. We know Wahab can be a spray gun, we know Amir can go wicketless but lets look at the positives. These guys can also turn up and turn the game on its head in a matter of 2-3 overs. Lets hope they can get some form and rhythm in the warm ups

    really like the squad now.

Junaid failed to do anything hence going home. Wahab pace hopefully will provide us with the attacking option we have been lacking and some revers swing

Tbf even Wasim Akram said he shouldn't go for the stumps

A lot of bowlers follow the batsman when he is standing away from the crease. Only people with 0 cricketing knowledge think Wahab bowled a brainless delivery there.

It was a poor delivery and he was probably attempting a wide yorker, but nothing wrong with the line.

2011 ODI WC - not given a single game
    2012 T20 WC - not selected
    2014 T20 WC - 1 game
2015 ODI WC - injured out
    2016 T20 WC - not selected
2019 ODI WC - not selected

    Really unfortunate, Junaid.

Wahab selection is stupid. Can't believe people on the forum are defending this decision, absolutely absurd.

He's absolute crap. Would've preferred Shinwari who at least takes wickets.

so Mickey showing us here that several years of preparation meant absolutely nothing if at the end of it you can't find players you have any confidence in and so have to pick someone you discarded years ago, without any testing.

utterly predictable and total breakdown of performance by inzi and mickey. they both need to be fired for this.

Lets forget that this same pair brought in Fakhar, Imam and Shaheen who are pretty decent and being back for the world cup.

Its actually a positive sign to see that they backed players and those who did well have stayed whilst those that weren't good enough got discarded before its too late. No egos on show by just playing them for the sake of it as its "their player"

Shebby called it. It wouldn't be wrong to assume Hafeez will also start chucking?? Hafeez needs to chuck in important matches.

Sometimes you need to take a risk. The bowlers we played against England didn’t do jack. I can see why a wildcard like Wahab was picked. On a bad day, he is horrendous but on a good day he can destroy a side.

hes had about two good days in his entire career. and youre betting on that? then why not get Sami in, because on a good day he can destroy a side, or stick with Yasir, because on a good day he can destroy a side, etc etc. each to their own, but there is no logic in this at all, and my point is that it makes a total mockery of the whole strategy behind preparation the past few years.

here's some more stats, but on his day... from another site and another poster on Wahab:

"On belters, his record is extremely poor.

Asia cup 2012: 50 runs in 4 overs with 8 boundaries that let Kohli score 183 and chase 330 in 48th over

SA 2013: 90 runs in 10 overs that allowed SA to post 343/5

England 2016: 110 runs in 10 overs in that infamous 444/3 game against England

England 2017: 87 runs in 8.4 overs against India in CT group match"
