It's been unanimously agreed, that this west indies team is very weak - one of their weakest and disjointed ever. Now you can only beat who's in front of you right? Ok, well kudos to Sarfraz and even Azhar for thrashing them out of sight in the T20 and ODI series - both 3-0 whitewashes.

As soon as the test matches start, West Indies begin to compete and have a sniff of of victory in the first test. They then go on to win the final test. Anything to do with the captain and the defensive mentality? I hear some say "oh boo hoo, don't you know test matches and limited overs are different"? And this is what's even more remarkable, west indies' strength is their limited overs team and weakness their test team! Yet they are demoralised in ODIs and T20s and do much better in the tests.

I didnt follow this match on tv but briefly on cricinfo. the way I read that some of our batsmen got out to Holder was embarassing. He bowls at very low 80s and to be bounced out by him on a dead pitch is crazy!

Misbah alone is not responsible~ Coaching staff who made that plan for Yasir to bowl outside leg-stump should be asked too why they made such a plan instead of allowing Yasir to do what he had been doing thus far!! I just dont like this over-coaching that's done at times!! A player is naturally doing something right, no need to disturb him and get him off his game-plan!!

 

Yes, our batting has its shortcomings, but we lost this game due to our toothless - inept bowling.

Time to build a side around azhar/asad. They are not youngsters. Plenty of experience between them.

 

Still you would want Younus around them to help them out!! Asad can take No. 3 position, Azhar No. 4, Younus bats at all important No. 5 and Babar Azam can do what Asad used to do at No. 6~ That way our middle order will settle down. Sharjeel can open with Sami Aslam.

A captain can do zilch when bowlers of opposition is hitting sixes for fun to your main bowler(s).

Like it or not, Yasir has been a big flop so far in this series (hope he would do better in SCG, as it should support spinners). Yasir has been the reason we became no.1 and in our successes/accomplishments, specially in UAE. When he doesn't deliver then our bowling becomes utterly toothless.

Our new ball bowlers should take the equal blame too. Amir has bowled well BUT in patches, nothing consistent. Plus, he doesn't get the support from the other end, which he use to when Asif use to share the new ball with him. Current bowling attach possess no charisma, incapable of penetration, horribly inept with new/old ball and totally toothless.

In batting, the only positives to take away are Azhar and Asad's performances. Misbah and Younis have been a massive disappointment, which was expected since the get go.
