Many thought he was a long term prospect, but in all honesty he's got himself to blame more than anyone else.
Looks like he still has a belly, you can tell by his hips (they dont lie) dude still has a lot of excess weight.
yep but he never understood his problem. It was never about weight. He actually in one interview thought that by eating more he would regain lost form. His greatest problem was his inability to play the late ball, his cement feet and ofcourse his confidence.
Great and strong players mature with the game. In this time and age teams figure out the players weakness with high technology. Thus great players nee to work on their technique. This is what happened to him when he went on that south African tour. They worked out that his cement feet and his lack of skill against the away ball could test him and that's what exactly happened. They worked him out. he immediately lost his confidence and his lack of ability started to grow on his strengths.
He had an offside game and he completely lost it when bowlers could get his wicket by just bowling with the away angle and then it started to work on his leg side game where he was a master... That flick on the pad where the ball would race away for minimum three. He started to miss those and the ones he did hit, he had no control and would fly for a catch. The last was his pull shot which was perhaps amongst his best. Morne morkel destroyed him with that. He lost complete control and I knew when he aired two catches on the same balls in two consecutive matches that we had just witnessed the end of a batsman.
His game was so badly effected that he couldn't even score in domestics and he never understood his problem. He needs to realize his technique needs massive tuning, his confidence needs to be solid and his feet need to move a little.
I noticed it during the BBL games.
It is not the twitter criticism. I think It is the wonders of a Doc wife who lives and practices abroad so her knowledge of proper nutrition requirement for an athlete is at works here.
