He knows the bar is set too low if comparing with a wannabee like Kohli. Best to compare with real players.
Pros: It makes sense to be compared to one's own countrymen for variety of reasons.First, most of the time they had played under same conditions and same opponents for a period of time , second they had been under same leadership, political non political or professional, similiar environment on and off the field, same expectations of fans, achieavable records' threshhold etc Cons: In the case of Babar Azam the quality of batsmen of Pak are sub par bar one or two, most are quite ordinary to be compared with, making some of the talented bats underperform due to low expectations. IMO the claim is non professional in sporting world but near to reality. Moreover, right now he is on foreign tour and Pakistanis captains overseas record is nothing to be proud of, Is he appealing for some leniency or want us to be prepared for the same old results. Ps; where is article in the OP?
Smart kid, shows he knows how to keep people happy. With current situation between both countries it is wise to say so otherwise why would you not want to be compared with greatest of your generation. PS: Before you all jump on me, I said greatest of your generation not greatest of all time.
