In IPL Yusuf Pathan has just made 100 off 37 balls. This is fastest century in any form of cricket so he has equalled Afridi's record....

IPL is not international cricket so I'll still say record belongs to Afridi.

I scored 100 in 21 balls while playing with my friend with tennis ball. :p

But serisouly, Afridi's record is in ODI (One day Internationals). This is DOMESTIC T20 match ... not even T20 international. Two totally different things.

    Plus, look who did YP scored his runs against;

    Code:
    v Bowler 0s 1s 2s 3s 4s 5s 6s 7+ Runs Balls SR
    Z Khan 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 2 100.00
    R McLaren 5 2 0 0 3 0 1 0 20 9 222.22
    SL Malinga 2 2 0 0 1 0 0 0 6 5 120.00
    AG Murtaza 1 3 2 0 1 0 3 0 29 10 290.00
    R Sathish 1 2 0 0 3 0 2 0 26 7 371.42
    ST Jayasuriya 0 1 0 0 1 0 2 0 17 4 425.00
55 runs in 17 balls vs Murtaza & Satish ... totally unknow bowlers. 17 runs in 4 balls vs 41 year old Jayasuria.

IPL is Bollywood cricket and we cant take anything that happens seriously. Especially since Modi made sure the ACU couldnt oversee last years IPL in South Africa.

Clearly he has to find some way of making some money out of this tournament!

Even with the abundance of international stars, this match was full of talentless players.

This left armer from Rajishtan for example, has a stock delivery of slower ball. I'm surprised he only ended up giving 42 runs off his 4 overs.

And this Marcenhuskkshas guy...what a batsman. Dravid plays more aerial shots in test cricket than this. 9 needed off two and then 6 needed off one but he was hell bent on playing ground shots. How hard is to loft?

I don't think people are following IPL primarily for cricket. Side items are huge attraction ... specially the dancers and cheerleaders in skimpy clothes and bollywood actresses.

If I wanted to watch hot chicks in skimpy clothes then there are other places to watch that, no point in wasting 3.5 hours of my life watching a useless match. Guess to each his own.

Actually he is second fastest after Symonds in T20s. Symonds made it in 34 balls.

Its amazing that these records are being broken now, after two T20 world cups and numerous successful T20 tournaments around the world, and not to mention patta wickets, better bats and smaller boundaries. Anwar and Afridi made them more than a decade ago. Way ahead of their time. Amazing.

Yusuf Pathan and Afridi shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence. IPL vs International cricket? Come on now.

To be fair the ground on which Afridi made his record was quite small too.

I think Malinga was bowling at the death. Quality always wins at the end.

Regardless, it's a joke if you compare this hundred to Afridi's. Warne is going a little over the top in his statements.

andrew symonds hit a century in a 20/20 match in 34 balls, so this hasnt equalled any record but is the 2nd fastest domestic century.

20/20 boundaries are much smaller than those for ODIs so no way can this be compared with Afridis.

Salman Butt made 92* from 25 deliveries in a domestic game, had the opposition scored more runs he would have been above Andrew Symonds.

Btw, i did say it right, it was Salman Butt (yep surprised me aswell)

Ofcourse, Malinga's a quality bowler. But yar, needing six to win, even a tailender will get out trying to hit a six. This Masca...guy didn't even try to loft!

And what did Warne say about that century?

I think same logic can be applied to Yousaf Pathan.

20 20 was a joke as it is but IPL has taken this joke to the next level, as for Warne's statement well he has to make sure that next pay cheque is received on time.

They were of the same caliber that Yousuf Pathan hit around the park, was just pointing out that even Salman Butt who is not a T20 player can score runs of crap bowlers, so its not unremarkable that a strong bloke who is well known for his hitting scored a fast century :)

Warne gets the majority of his salary from the IPL (and the anti hair loss company who he is the ambassador of)

So for him to make that statement about Yousuf's innings was a bit over the top, Warne through he illustrious career has played with some of crickets modern legends like Lara, Tendulkar, Ponting, Hayden, Gilchrist, McGrath, J. Langer, McGrath, Wasim, Waqar, Inzamam etc. and for him to call Yousuf's innings the best he has ever seen does seem out of order.

Btw I am a great fan of the Pathan brothers but it does seem over the top.

Warne rated this as the best innings he has ever seen. A joke of a statement coming from someone who has one of the best cricketing brains in the world (it's obviously Modi ki chamcha giri).

@ "the_game" Warne rated this as the best innings he has ever seen.

Now adays everyone kiss India's @$$.

Money talks my friend. They are just making these statements so that they are well liked and their contracts be renewed in the futre in one form or another.

    @CMN

A few weeks ago Wayne Parnell said that Ashish Nehra is his idol and role model. The fact that Parnell had just been signed by Nehra's IPL team had nothing to do with it.
