It's been a fantastic match to watch. Plenty of ups and downs in this game.
Before the series had even begun everyone was predicting high scoring draws but we have been treated to the total opposite!
With the fall of Misbah today all looked finished for Pakistan. The top four had been taken out the equation and we were still behind on the score. Up stepped the two youngsters, the future of Pakistan to show some grit and the fightback was on!
They were paired together with the score at 54/4 with loads more work today. Slowly they put together a partnership which has given us something to work with. Both showed great temperament in the middle and hardly put a foot wrong apart from the run out chance.
They will be in a similar situation in the morning from when they paired up together this afternoon with us 55 runs ahead so just call it 55/4. These two need to start it all again in the and as Asad said in his interview work in 10's and 20's rather than looking at a bigger lead.
As we have seen over the past few days a wicket usually brings 2/3 together. With only Adnan left before the tail these two need to bat sensibly in the morning to try and push us towards something over a 150 lead for us to stand a chance. Our tail is very weak so I don't expect many runs from the bowlers.
Massive session coming up in the morning!

its a shame the day ended really, because my worry is they will come in tomorrow and have to start all over again and get out?! if there was another 20-25 overs left they were well set and would likely have batted through and our tail is absolutely horrible.
But this is probably the kind of situation Azhar loves, he can bat as slow as he wants too

Well played but job isn't even half done. One of them have to bat through.

Two sessions of batting is key.

Well played 'so far'... But we have to remember that if these guys do not score anything big tomorrow then this revival will be forgotten. These two need to bat for their lives since the series is on their line here. 10 runs here could be like a century in most other situations. They have shown us that they are at the least average batsmen by getting this far. But to be something great and earn respect these two need to score big now that they are set

The way they batted was awesome to watch..... They are future for Pakistan!!! Even if pakistan lost still these two would be a great positivity to get out from this match....Atleast they are taking responsibilty which is an achievement in itself

I don't think that a stand of 71* is something to get too excited about. If these two can add some more substantial runs tomorrow then fair enough they will have done well. But at the moment I don't think this stand is anything that special as of yet

leave aside the runs they scored... wot has impressed me is their fighting spirit.... remember they are pretty new to international cricket, they playing against worlds best team and they havnt had a luxury of playing on their on land yet!!!
winning or loosing is a different thing, atleast they fought!!

lol yes now I know it was something special now. But you need to understand that the 20 or so extra runs these two added early in the morning really made the difference. Had they not added them then I don't think there would have been that score board pressure in 4th innings.
What I meant by my earlier comment was that had they got out early in the morning with a lead of only 55 it would not have been worth much in the end, them few runs in the morning made the difference

See bro I never talked about the runs they scored or strike rate they scored the runs on..... wot I was saying tat the way they were fighting it out was just something amazing..... I hardly remember any one apart from Inzi for long time in Pak team who had really dug it out in the middle...In the end it paid and also any small achievement is better then something!! next tym they will give better results I can bet on tat...

Brilliant partnership by Azhar and Shafiq really grinded it well and got the team out of a hole which they got in.

Atherton said the best thing that they would've learned or this is the best thing that could've happened for these 2 to get in their and get their team out of a hole rather than being in a comfortable position as they really dug in and formed a partnership and kept Pakistan in the game. The 145 target was largely down to their partnership as if it wasn't for them Pakistan would've not been able to put anything around even a 100 up.

I wonder how much the "loving telling off" had to do with Asad and his partnership with Azhar
