Yeah, a brazen display of bullying.

Questions are what can Pakistan do.

Funny those posts are often under attack by Nato which are setup to stop infiltration of Talibaan from Pakistan.

Pakistan is angry, very angry. Public mood is out rightly disgust.

The US considers itself an irresistible force. It has the benefit of technology and economy, Pakistan has the benefit of geographic proximity.

Nato supplies have been stopped. Nato has been intimated to vacate Shamsi Airbase within 15 days. Calculated steps have been taken. Lets see the response

This also raises a question once again on the efficiency of Pakistan Military forces as a whole. Not only there was no air support given to the troops i can't really understand why they didn't even have a shoulder mounted surface to air missile in a whole company...

Whereas our airforce was on its routine slumber as usual, surface to air missiles could have helped the troops fight back..

Are those Anza Mk3 just for exhibitions..

Seems they were hit while running or sleeping

You raise some valid questions, but I don't endorse the above rage against the common soldier. I am sure these soldiers were not sleeping nor running! If they are not allowed to engage NATO and on top of that are not given the support (weaponry and airforce) then how do we expect them to perform?

IMO bot the GHQ and the political leadership is NOT performing their duty!

In this domain, there is absolutely no role of the political leadership. But i mean as the ISPR itself put it, there were no NATO casualities. I just can't understand why didn't they put up more resistance. Its just hard to accept such incompetence.

And come on, in military doctrine when you are under attack the normal rules don't apply. You just can't let someone else butcher you mercilessly while you don't even retaliate.

To tell you the truth, common people feel more betrayed by Pakistan Armed Forces then NATO. We were kind of expecting it from NATO anyways, but its not the first time, our Army has been caught with their pants down..

Pakistan Armed forces incompetence in dispensing of their primary duty i.e defending the nation "geographic" boundaries has been ignored during this chest thumping against NATO and the tough questions that the military could have faced regarding their competence have been conveniently sidelined.

Pakistanis need to know where their substantial amount of earnings are invested into. If this is the state of our armed forces preparedness then aren't we better off defending ourselves individually????

Even Talibaan have shown more spine then our Armed forces

And then there were two attacks

Even if they were caught by surprise the 1st time which itself is inexcusable, how come the second one wasn't challenged as well..

More then two hours they were under attack. What was the PAF doing. Are those JF-17 and F16's merely for display in Museums.. Or do they just add to the numbers. Was it another secretly sanctioned operation by the Military, though the NATO folks got their coordinates wrong.

There is certainly more then that meets the eye. If an enemy force can engage us for two hours without any retaliation, well anything can happen. 2.5 freaking hours. An F16 can probably launch from Africa and reach Afghanistan border to beat the crap from those helicopters...

Can anyone confirm, how many of our generals shat in their pants..

The one thing i find disgusting is the fact that Pakistani land is being used to control the drones, it pretty much means that zadari's silence on the issue amounts to a tacit approval. That base should never have been used to launch drone attacks in the first place let alone closed....

I get the feeling that one of these days zadari is gonna remember the old adage 'be carefull what you wish for' he's so busy pretending to be a bhutto that he's forgotten the price the name carries.

Agree with zenix, on the lack of response after two and a half hours......at this rate india could be having tea in islamabad and they wouldnt realise:S But seriously there is no way they couldn't have known, if you ask me this stinks of collaboration at some level.

See we have had enough of politician and Zardari bashing. But its now common knowledge that the civilian govt have absolutely no say in these matters.

Its time Military should be held accountable for their inefficiency.

Any other country a commander or two would have been fired.. Not in Pakistan. The Army is a sacred cow and has got for respect then it deserves.

The fact is that Pakistan Armed Forces are overbloated, overexaggerated and very unprofessional outfit. When your DG MO says that we can't face Nato Militarily what can be said about the Morale of the junior officers..

Was listening to Alex Jones and he had Hamid Gull on and the idea that he gave was that some of the generals are on the take.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un

If this isn't an open act of war then what is?

What Pakistan should have done is cut off any and all ties with their so called American allies.

For those that perpetrated these act they will get whats coming to them.

When countless civilian lives are lost during drone attacks, nothing happens.

But when soldiers were killed, our army's national pride suddenly came into action

Terrible incident. A lot of public anger is being directed not only at NATO but our Army top brass, probably in equal measure.

How times change, people always thought that our Army would be our salvation, and can stabilise the nation despite the petty squabbles of our politicians. However after Musharraf's era after he sacked the judges who actually cared for the common man, and now under Kayani's leadership, who whilst has rightly kept out of civilian politics, has failed to take the tough stance against the US that the public wants. The traditional pro-Army communities such as the rural farmers who once looked up to our generals, now curse them openly.

Pakistan orders US to vacate Shamsi airbase, stops NATO supplies - same old news, I heard the very same thing after Raymond Davis incident. Shoot the drones down and take back our airspace.

Unfortunately, Pakistan Army has found a perfect smokescreen to divert public scrutiny from their mis-performance to the Govt by creating the Memo Issue. Together with the judiciary the PA is manipulating the memo issue very cleverly as to divert public attention.

And sorry to say, they are once again successful. They kicked out Nawaz Sharif after the Kargil debacle. They were ready to kick out PPP after 2 May...
