ISLAMABAD, Feb 2 (APP): Former pacer Sarfraz Nawaz has said if the pitch of Dubai stadium is spin-friendly for Friday’s final Test with England, Pakistan cricket team will certainly clean sweep the series.Talking to APP on Thursday, Sarfraz Nawaz said that Pakistan currently has the world’s best spin attack and the weapon would prove to be a nail in the coffin of struggling England batting line.Pakistan has already won the three Test matches series by 2-0 but a clean sweep against World’s No. 1 team will definitely further boost the players’ confidence, he said.

Sarfraz said that the Pakistani batsmen particularly needed to perform better. They (batsmen) need to stay at stumps steadily and wisely to build up pressure on the opponents, he added.

Sarfraz expressed happiness over early release of fast bowler Mohammad Amir from Portland Young Offenders Institution in Dorset after serving sentence in a spot-fixing scam.

Commenting on reports that Amir is planning to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against his five-year ban imposed by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Sarfraz said if a player committed a crime then he should be punished as to set an example for others.

Sarfraz Nawaz appreciated Amir’s step to move against the ban and hoped for a favourable verdict.

Talking about the Pakistan-Bangladesh one-day series here in April, he said the series would be thrilling and successful.

The way the authorities of two countries are working together for security measures for the series, nothing unpleasant can happen, he added.
