1st Test: Pakistan v England at Nottingham,

England have won the toss and chose to Bat. Salman Butt said the decision would have been mutual, as the track is dry and Danish could've exploited the spin on the 5th day.

Not only that... He is standing way back and as slips have placed themselves according to him, so almost everything is falling short of slips.

Akmal won't let us have this one more wicket so easily... You see he is playing for England against Pakistan....

Just as I was talking about standing way back in my last post.... You see he missed another chance due to standing back!

Some people will never feel the guilt. But why will he feel guilty, he should be proud of himself, he is doing what he is supposed to do. He is the wise captian and if Butt loses his place as captain, I can imagine who will get captaincy.

230/4, unless aamer or gul have a great spell today or tomorrow morning, i can see England posting 350-400. Well atleast they cant loose then.

Get them 6 wickets in less that 70 runs. C'mmon reverse swing and gul and amer and kaneria.

Dropped a sitter from Strauss. England won the toss and decided to bat first, Butt said he also would have batted.

Aamer bowled great along with Asif. (akmal dropped from Aamer's bowling) Asif got 2 close calls from KP which were both referred so we lost both our reviews and eventually Asif got KP. Spinners have been crap, Malik wasnt too bad but Kaneria needs to be kicked sooner rather than later.

Rather than Pakistan gathering themselves for a final charge against England in the final session, the team just look like they just want the day to be over.

This is where Afridi was good at waking the team up and pushing them all to give that little bit extra in the field.

I've noticed that if you use both reviews early the umpires tend not to favor your call after you have no reviews left. Maybe its cos they feel you wrongly challenged their decision and want you to pay for it but I noticed it quite a bit in Australia and it has happened on a few occasions today.

Thanks rizzy. We expect too much from Kaneria, he's no warne. Kaneria should be used in short bursts with close in fielders etc to create pressue. Use Malik otherwise. its more than 60 overs i guess and Gul should be able to reverse swing by now.

Seems strange but im sure you only get reverse swing with old ball  , Umar Gul hasnt bowled with the old ball and Pakistan have taken the new ball. Butt must be thinking that Gul is not upto the job and wants Asif and Aamer back on.

    England v Pakistan | First Test | Day 2 | Trent Bridge | 30/07/10

A brilliant start for Pakistan on Day 2 of the 1st test against England!

England resumed on 331/4 and were all out for 354 losing their last 6 wickets for 23!

Asif was exceptional taking a 5fer and Gul struck with the last wicket to have 1 to his name!
