Abdul Majid Bhatti ... a very senior sports journalist raised some serious concerns over some questionable people in an article he wrote in July 27th edition of Jang. He even named Azahr and Mazhar in the article. He also questioned the behavior of some members of the cricket team.

Now, if a sports journalist can see this from outside then why folks like Yawar Saeed, Shafqat Rana, Waqar Younis or Ijaz ahmed could not see it?

Why did PCB not take any action or do something about the article which clearly names two people?

Because all in PCB are also corrupt

That's my opinion too. The players are not able to this on their own. They must have several people from PCB backing them up. Then how can we expect the fraudsters to be punished? The judge is involved too :(

Only a total clean up can save PAK cricket - that includes the current rulers too.

Actually the players were told during a team meeting at the start of the England tour not to meet with the Majeed brothers. A lot of this was based on the advice of Shahid Afridi who used to be managed by the Majeeds himself.

However it's not possible for the team management to stop players from meeting with their agents, so there's not a lot they could have done other than offer strong advice like they did.

When Afridi retired and Salman Butt became captain it became even harder to stop the players from meeting with the Majeeds because the captain was also managed by the brothers as well. This gave the other players from the Majeed stable free reign to meet with the brothers.

What didn't help things was that certain people were using the Majeed brothers to gain access to the players as a way to bypass the media ban placed on the Pakistan team.

So, are you saying the Azhar/Mazhar's presence around the team was not just as their commercial agents. It was much more than that?

How it did not help the situation? If players and Azhar/Mazhar were the culprits then what is those people's fault who gained access to the players via the brothers? Did those people know what was going on? Logically, if Majid Bhatti could see it then why those people could not?

Clearly the team and the captain of the time didn't think so, otherwise why name those two specifically

It was an open secret that there was something dodgy about them. On a personal level I had their contact details and had spoken to one of the Majeeds on a few occasions in the past. But since setting up Cricistan, I chose not to use them as a middle men for any Cricistan exclusives for the above mentioned reasons.

My concern was always that by contacting the brothers to get to the players you were giving them a semi-legitimate reason to contact the players during ongoing games. EG for an update or something
