    Hello folks!

So we are back with a promised piece on VVS Laxman:

    @ Cricketing Minds

We feel Laxman has been over-rated and should be out of the team. What are your thoughts?

Comments and criticism are welcome on the article - content-wise, research-wise, length-wise, anything will do :)! Your feedback definitely helps us with our skills and we strive to improve and create discussions.

Let the Laxman-defence or the Laxman-bashing start :D!

    Great read yet again.

Although Laxman career is not that spectacular but he did play some awesome innings ( mostly against Australia)
Performing against the big teams counts lot and thats the reason he is consider as modern day great. His ability to play with the tail is one of the best.

have never considered Laxman special or a great, hes just a decent batsman imo if his performances against the aussies make him special then Ijaz Ahmed(great against the aussies) and Wasim Raja(great against the windies sides) would also be considered greats of their era.
    mediocre odi player aswell

Yes but if you read the article - we covered match-winning and match saving innings under "Consistency" points e and f. As it is, maybe its the media, but a few innings from Laxman have been overhyped so much; may it's just me but I totally feel he is not that great as people presume him to be.

And if people argue that he comes down at no 6 and plays well from there - he has only scored 5 100's at no 6 in 50 odd games, statistically there's way better players than him at no 6 like Ricky Ponting (who got 7 100's in 33 games) and Steve Waugh..
