    Hey guys,

Me and my friend just started this blogging website:

    @ Cricketing Minds

Since we're noobs, yet passionate followers of cricket, it'll be deeply appreciated if you guys can provide us feedback on our analysis.

This, by no means, is an attempt to promote ourselves or our blog - we just joined cricistan and will be part of this community.

Our most recent blogpost was analysing Ajmal vs Swann, prior to that we had posted on potential rankings of India and Pakistan depending on the outcome of ongoing series.

So it will be great if you can take a few minutes out and give us feedback on our analysis. Comments and criticsm, all is welcome! :)

    Lets all talk cricket!

    Correction: Thanks alot people :)!

Based on some responses I got outside of this blog, I was told by some that the stats might be a bit too detailed? Personally I dig stats..but I am sure a lot of people don't..any comments on the level of depth maybe?
I am trying to find an exact balance..maybe you guys can help me out. :)

No. I think to go into a lot of detail of stats is perfectly fine. Most people would want to read a more detailed analysis. So it's perfectly fine.

    Thanks alot for the response..

We'll be writing soon on VVS Laxman: whether he's very special or very over-rated so Stay Tuned.

And since you are Afridi's number one fan, I think I should pull in an article analyzing Afridi's awesomeness lol :p

    What I liked:
Great blog. I love the fact you kept it very simple and The pic of swan in the front in the magazine view is just classic, reminds me of those evil guys from lord of the rings.

Things I think you could improve on:
As someone said earlier, the only thing you got to settle on is the stats, yes do use them but do not over do them. Think about adding other countries and the ability to sort it out into countries.

    Overall: A tremendous work

Thank you very much Omar for this warm welcome.

It is always fun to talk cricket with cricket-lovers and we would love to participate in discussions and ideas as part of the community, while also answering some of the most common myths, perceptions of the cricketing world that people hold.

Once again thank you very much. :)

Think about adding other countries and the ability to sort news and information into different countries.

We are currently working on a piece on VVS Laxman - finding out whether he's actually "very very special" or "very very over-rated".

We will definitely work on other teams outside of Pakistan and India. Our aim is to explore these general queries people have -give some hard core stats to actually give them a clearer picture.

Yep, the blog needs some organization and country-wise is a good option which we will definitely look into. Thank you very much for the recommendation :).

    Hey PassionatePakistani,

It is indeed a good idea for an article and will be considered.

Off my head, I can give you the immediate stats which might give you a certain picture of how both of them have performed. Saeed Ajmal debuted in ODIs in July 2008.

Here are both of their stats since his debut (didn't have a lot of time so I just put in some HTML without focusing on formatting) :

    HTML:
Comparison of Ajmal and Afridi in ODIs
Matches	Maidens	Runs	Wickets	Avg	4 fors	5 fors	Econ Rate
    Ajmal	55	23	1924	78	24.66	3	0	4.09
    Afridi	69	14	2790	94	29.68	2	5	4.51

It is evident that Ajmal's been a bowler who contains the runs (large proportion of maidens) and in recent matches, he has consistently taken wickets in every game (the fact that he has only 3 "4 for's" shows that he hasn't gotten a lot of wickets in one game but wickets in a lot of games).
Afridi on the other end has been expensive (higher economy rate) but has taken a huge proportion of wickets in a few games (the first three matches in WC2011, he took 14 wickets).

We will expand on this on CricketingMinds but here was just a brief on what is the story behind the comparison.

    Thanks for the stats cm

Can we say that afridi is a bigger match winner compare to Saeed in odis, because the stats clearly shows that afridi has many 5fe and 4Fer and has won more games single handedly. While Saeed has been more consistent but not a genuine match winner in odis.

Also can we say that both of them have underachieved in odis??

Underachieved might not be the right word - I mean, after all Saeed Ajmal is the no 1 bowler in ODIs and that clearly is not an underachievement :).

We will prepare a small article on this very soon and post it here.

i know he is number one but he hasnt been that lethal or genuine match winner.

he contributes alot but yet to win a game single handedly in odis.
