    Ok so you caught me.

    There's no free prize but if you were willing to register for something then why not register for nothing? I promise it wont cost you a penny :D

    Cricistan is a growing force in the world of Pakistan cricket. We've already broken several big stories and we get quoted all over the web by Cricinfo, APP, Press Association UK, ARY News, ANI, Zee, Yahoo, Dawn, etc.

    We also brought you exclusive match reports from the series between Afghanistan and the NCA XI which featured players like Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Irfan, Azhar Ali, Aizaz Cheema, etc

    We have a great collection of quality videos including the first ever exclusive video of Mohammad Irfan bowling in a match. Currently it's still the only one.

    We also bring you regular updates from personalities involved with Pakistan cricket.

    Then there's the exclusive pictures like the ones below...

    I haven't registered on any of the other cricket communities (debate etc,.), but have visited f.ex. PP after my registration on Cricistan. I know you (mercenary) has been a part of the developer group, but I find that site quite confusing with all the blinking stuff etc. So changing the prime site has not been a real opportunity for me. This site is simple and attracting. Keep up the good work!

    After joining this site I have lost 50lb of weight, dropped a couple of jeans sizes and my skin looks healthy and amazing. I have also managed to get alot of stress of my chest which the Pakistani team gave me on their recent tour of Australia.

    So, if you are one of these people who like group therapy sessions for free please join.

    P.S weight loss is not gauranteed.

    Hi Merc. Glad to see a familiar face.

    I have been lurking for a few weeks and have finally signed up.

    I must say that I am enjoying the simplicity of the site and the fact that it will not take up hours of my day.

    I a registered PP'er and have the uttermost respect for all the staff there. Probably been using it since 2004. My reasoning for preferring cricistan is that PakPassion is a victim of its own success. Far too many posts and a much younger generation than the past.

    I hope that you carry on getting succesful and keep threads going with quality posts.

    All the best to you and all the Cricistan staff.

    Hi Cricistan.

    I'm a long-time lurker on here,but just couldn't register !
    I've finally mustered the courage to sign up and end the lurking.

    I like the simplicity on here,the easy-going feeling and it feels much more brotherly and you get that at-home feeling much more than PP,where there are an overload of posts,and the older,sensible posters have left.

    Hope this site is successful,all the best and I hope I can enjoy my stay.

    @Waq

    Great to see you here, you're an old timer like me so I get what you mean about the hectic pace elsewhere. To be honest I feel like I've come to a retirement home with some of my best friends and we're just relaxing and chatting about cricket.

    When Cricistan first started I was a little worried about pushing the forums along and making them busier but now I'm relaxed and happy to let the website develop at it's own pace. For the time being I'm just concentrating on creating awareness about Cricistan but as you say I hope we dont get hectic busy (on the forums) any time soon!

    @Markhor

    You're very welcome here! Dont worry about posting tons of stuff or trying to impress anyone with flashy posts.

    Here at Cricistan we want to build a relaxed environment so take your time, look around and post when you want to voice your opinion on something!

    PS - I remember your username from somewhere, were you registered on PP?

    I agree with both of you. In my last year or so at PP I barely posted unless it was to do with PP administration or an exclusive. I just used to get lost in the volume of replies and got tired of wading through pages of smiley faces and 'lols'

    That's not to say that PP isn't a good site. Whatever anyone says it's still one of the best cricket sites around and hopefully it'll remain that way for a long time.

    Cricistan is an alternative for us older posters and by older I dont mean older in age necessarily. Just older in the way we think and post, etc.

    We've got a few young posters here too but luckily for us they're not here to boost their post counts. :)

    Great point Merc! PP is a great website but lately it is getting too crowded over there. You can not have one-on-one conversation, debate or argument because every Tom, **** and Harry jumps in and ruins the thread.

    That's actually way above average.

    The number of active members is usually less than 10% the number of registered members. There are many forums out there with 30,000 or more registered members but only 1500 of those are active. And of those only about 600 or so post and only 300 or so post regularly. All forum communities are like that. You'll find that only 5% to 10% of registered members post or are active on most sites.

    If you're really interested in Cricistan's stats then I've no problem in sharing them.

    In the last day or so we've had 66 active users, which is 23% of the total registered users. That's 4 or 5 times the average. This percentage is still very high because we're a new site but as time goes by the percentage will come down like it always does.
