Symbian-Guru.com Is Over | Symbian-Guru.com

Its a long article by the founder of a very popular website symbian-guru.com. Gone are the days when people asked about the latest N-series or E-series phone from their friends and collegues. Nokia had a huge market in Pakistan few years ago, but now with the advent of IPhones and Blackberries, Nokia is rapidly loosing its charm in Pakistan and all over the world aswell, more so because of its reluctance of using any other operating system, other than Symbian. Their market of cheap phones have immensely decreased aswell, as the new cheap chinese phones are available now. The end of nokia and symbian is near!

Nokia want to keep full control over their phones. They really should look into making their phones with either Android or Windows Mobile as their operating system.

It's a shame to see such a big name refuse to move with the times.

I've always been a Sony Ericsson guy, that's until I got my iPhone and now I can't ever see myself going back. I only ever had one nokia phone and I gave it back as soon as I could.

I think android is the future. I beleive it clocked as fast as iphone software. The only draw back is that android phone are not cheap/budget at the moment. As soon as that happens your blackberries and iphone will fade in few years. HTC and Sony Ericson are already making android phones, eventually at some point nokia will have to use android if they have to beat bb and apple market.

Nokia tried with Maemo but failed drastically; they should have kept Maemo for their dedicated Internet Tablets - which are class.

They're now collaborating with Intel for a project named Meego, and that is their latest, and perhaps last, throw of the device.

Their stubborn attitude has already seen their market share slump as S.E; Samsung; Motorola and of course HTC, have all adapted to Android and even cheaper clones such as the Pulse take precedence over cack such as the C63, which is the same as handests gone 5 years.

I've always loved Symbian though as their browsers have always been superb, and it's simple, free apps have always been available. That said, I've not had an Android handset yet but my N800 handles most useful apps anyway.

^Symbian was good 5 years back, but as compared to other Mobile OS, its terribly slow now. Nokia touch phones are not as responsive as iPhones or HTC or other company phones, one of the reason being symbian i think.

I was a symbian guy myself, owned the latest Nseries phones before i lost interest in cellphones. I dont own iphones etc now but i have used many touch phones from many companies but i found nokia handsets to be much slower. Nokia was most famous because of its user friendly enviremont, but other companies are getting their too. Touch phones are the way to go, i plan on buying one in couple of months and im waiting HTC or Samsung release one within my budget.

I think it is a little pre-mature to mark symbian OS as dead. All depends on their latest symbian ^3 devices, if they do not click, then, I am afraid Nokia will be in deep trouble.
